Views from the Sip is a statewide Mississippi community publication. Stories, spotlights, weekend roundups, hip-hop coverage, university life, and the occasional opinion piece you didn't ask for. Mississippi-rooted; not Mississippi-limited when it comes to opinion, culture, and criticism.

The companion site, (re)Views from the Sip, covers reviews of local businesses, venues, and events alongside cultural criticism. It also hosts The Certified Sip, a community-driven standard recognizing Mississippi businesses that treat every customer with dignity.

The publication is run by Dew — editor, publisher, and primary writer. Contributors submit articles and pitches through the site; features and spotlights are written collaboratively with their subjects.

What we publish

Editorial work on this site celebrates the overlooked. The reviews hub argues its positions. Both sides take their work seriously — opinion as a craft, not a hot-take treadmill.

Voice trends Gen-X in sensibility on the reviews side, warmer and community-forward on the main editorial side. Welcomes dissent. Doesn't pretend all takes are equal. Won't run anything cruel.
